Winter tree care

As we prepare for the winter months there are a few important things to think about concerning tree care.  One of the most important considerations for the harsh winters that we face in the Midwest is winter damage on the evergreen trees.  Evergreens are a beautiful addition to many landscapes across the area and nothing is more frustrating than losing an old evergreen tree from winter damage.  Winter damage is basically caused by one primary cause, dehydration.

Dehydration caused by the drying out of evergreen needles during the winter months causes the needles to turn brown, die and fall.  Although a minor amount of needle drop is common late fall, too much can cause fatal results to many trees.  The dehydration is caused by lack of available moisture uptake by the shallow roots from the frozen ground, dry air and wind.  This winter will cause more winter damage than any in recent history because the trees have already been exposed to a severely drier than normal growing season.  This will cause more winter damage because the trees are already under heavy drought stress going into the dry and windy season.

Thankfully there is a preventative treatment readily available from your local Lawn Doctor. Lawn Doctor provides an anti-desiccant treatment specifically targeting the adverse effects of winter damage before it occurs.  An anti-desiccant treatment from Lawn Doctor is a sprayed on product that provides a film of protection to the leaves of evergreen trees preventing them from drying out.  This service when applied on late fall and early winter will enable your evergreen trees to stay healthier and greener throughout the winter months and burst with new growth once the warmer temperatures and moisture of spring arrives.  Contact Lawn Doctor at the link below today to schedule your anti-desiccant treatment for evergreen trees and prevent winter damage to your landscape this winter.

Excellant post, as always. I highly agree that winter damage will be at an all time high this year because of severe drought conditions going into winter. I like how you have linked your website directly to your blog post to easily direct a customer to sign up service online and eliminating hassles. Great job!
